Interview with Jen Grasso of Renegade Gym

I have a special interview for you with Jen Grasso of Renegade Gym in Watchung, New Jersey. You may recognize Jen from the many videos I have posted of her in my weekly For Your Viewing Pleasure posts. I actually posted her videos long before I even knew who she was just because I found them to be so impressive, but once I found out who she was, I knew I had to interview her. The fiancé of Jason Ferruggia, Jen really has it all. She’s smart, attractive, cool, strong, athletic—the list just goes on and on. Jason is one [...]

Good Reads for the Week

I don’t know why, but for some reason this week just seemed to fly by. Anyone else feel that way? In any case, it was another great week for reading material. I’ve put together of a list of great stuff to keep you busy over the weekend. It will certainly give you something to do while you’re not watching football. Yep, this is the first weekend since the beginning of September that there is NO football: college, pro, nothing. If you couldn’t tell, I’m not too happy about that. I guess we have the Super Bowl to look forward to [...]

For Your Viewing Pleasure: Take 16

I know I normally make this video posts at the end of the week on Friday, but I will not be able to do it then and wanted to be sure to get something up this. Plus, I don’t think as many people want to take the time out of their weekends to watch videos so it probably works out better midweek anyway. In any case, while it has been a short week since the last edition of For Your Viewing Pleasure (be sure to check it out if you haven’t already), we have another stacked list full of awesome [...]

Exercise of the Week: Thick Rope Pullups

The Exercise of the Week this week is nothing new, but it’s a great exercise that I feel warrants special attention. I’m talking about Thick Rope Pullups. If you read my blog regularly, you already know that I’m a HUGE fan of pull-ups. I’m not really one to rate exercises, but if I had to, pull-ups would definitely make my top 5. They are super basic yet super effective. I do them at least twice a week, sometimes more, making sure to employ several different variations to avoid hitting plateaus. One such variation involves using a thick rope. If you [...]

For Your Viewing Pleasure: Take 15

Well we’ve got another great selection of videos from the past week. I really enjoy putting these posts together because I always learn a lot in the process and gets lots of good ideas. Plus it is always motivating to watch other people training hard and churning out some impressive stuff. It’s another long list so I’ll stop rambling and get right to it. As usual, I did not post any of my own videos but please be sure to subscribe to my You Tube channel to check out my new videos as they come up. I’ve posted a bunch [...]

4 Awesome Pushup Variations

I have been filming quite a few videos recently but I am way behind in getting them uploaded and even more behind in sharing them here in my blog. Several of the newer ones are pushup variations so I figured it would be a good idea to group them all together in one post. If you follow my blog regularly, you know that I am a HUGE fan of pushups. Actually, I do them in some shape or form in almost every one of my upper body workouts. Here are four cool variations that I have been using lately. Blast [...]

Exercise of the Week: Plank Sled Drags

Looking for something to blast your shoulders, core, triceps, and chest all while getting your heart rate up? Look no further than this week’s Exercise of the Week: Plank Sled Drags. I actually sort of stumbled upon this one by accident, but I’m sure glad I did. A few months back I had messed around with doing plank walks with my feet on the Valslides, and I really liked them; however, I quickly gave them up because I couldn’t find a way to progress them comfortably. I tried adding a weighted vest, but I found the added weight on my [...]

Good Reads for the Week

I hope everyone had a good week last week and is getting ready to do the same this week. That being said, I'm a realist and know that many of you probably have a serious case of the "Mondays," especially if you are a New England Patriots fan (I'm still bummed about that, if you couldn't tell). No worries: I've compiled a list of awesome articles and podcasts from the last week for you to check out and distract yourself from whatever it is you should be doing. Before I get to the list, here are a few things from [...]

Well it’s Friday, and you know what that means. That marks to end of the work week for most of you (not me), but more importantly, it means it’s time for a new installment of For Your Viewing Pleasure. We’ve got another great list of videos this week so let’s get right to it. Before I introduce the list, I just want to remind you to be sure to follow me on my new Twitter account HERE (benbruno1) and subscribe to my You Tube page here.
