My “New” Training Playlist
I went home two weeks ago for Mother’s Day to spend time with my mom and grandma, and while I was there, I went through some of my old stuff, including some old CD’s.
I came across a mix that I made in December of 2000, so I was 15 at the time. I was one of the first of my friends to have a CD burner on my desktop, so I used to make a bunch of mixes and sell them for a couple bucks. I’d also make a lot for myself.
This particular mix was titled “Ski Mix 9” (I had a lot of ski mixes apparently, haha), so I’m guessing that I used to listen to it on the way to the mountain to get pumped up.
Anyway, out of sheer curiosity I popped it in to see what I had on it, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it’s actually a pretty sweet training mix.
So this is my “new” training mix that I’ve been listening to recently.
Da Rockwilder- Method Man and Redman
Phesto D- Hieroglyphics
You Never Knew- Hieroglyphics
Dammit- Blink 182
Da Joint- EPMD
The Kid’s Aren’t Alright- The Offspring
Powerful, Beautiful, Excellent- John Forte
Devil’s Dance Floor- Flogging Molly
Can’t Get the Best of Me- Cypress Hill
Rap Superstar- Cypress Hill
Got the Life- Korn
Bulls of Parade- Rage Against the Machine
Know Your Enemy- Rage Against the Machine
Speed Law- Mos Def
We Trying to Stay Alive- Wyclef Jean (I used to end most of my mixes with this song for some reason)
Hopefully that gives you some ideas for good training music.
I’m always looking for new songs too, so if you’ve got anything for me, please let me know in the comments. Thanks!
