Awesome Fitness Videos For Your Viewing Pleasure: Take 71
I hope everyone had a nice weekend. To kick off the week, I’ve put together a list of 21 awesome training videos to help get you motivated and ready to rock and roll. I’m on the way to the gym myself right now to do some pull-ups, so I could use the added boost myself.
Between this list and this weekend’s Good Reads list (check that out if you missed it), you should be busy for a long time.
I’ve gotta run, so without further adieu, here’s the list. Getcha popcorn ready…
I don’t normally include my own videos in these, but after last week’s Random Thoughts post where I touched on my own training, I received a bunch of questions about what I’m doing for my legs right now. Here is one of my favorites because I’m able to smoke my legs without a lot of weight. It’s just single leg deadlifts using “1.5” reps. It won’t take much for your legs to be screaming after these.
I also uploaded 4-5 other new videos this week so be sure to check out and subscribe to my You Tube page.
Amazing gymnast performs amazing moves with one leg. One of my readers sent this to me last week and I was just floored with how awesome it is. You really won’t believe it.
Michael Keck does 225×40. I love some high rep squats. Mike is a freakin strong dude and makes this look easy. The week prior, he got 30 and I jokingly called him out and told him he has to get 50. He’s saving that for next time, but from the looks of this, it’s well within his grasp.
Jen Sinkler does power cleans and squat cleans with 173 pounds for a new personal best. Congrats to Jen for the PR. Great job.
Molly Galbraith pulls 300 pounds for 2 from a deficit. Light weight baby!
Nia Shanks does RDLs with 205 pounds for 6 reps. She also uses 35 lb. plates to increase the range of motion. Now that’s a strong-ass chick—literally and figuratively.
Jared Enderton does a 190 kg clean and jerk at a bodyweight of 96 kg. I can’t even fathom this. Wow.
Chase Karnes does military press with 195 pounds for 10 reps. Now that is seriously strong. Holy moly.
Kevin Carr does reaching 1 arm, 1 leg ring pushups. These look very tough. Great upper body and core challenge.
Marianne Kane does chin-ups, front squats, deadlift, glute bridges, dips, and more. Great workout.
Molly Galbraith front squats 210×3. The scary thing is, this didn’t even look hard.
Shon Grosse does band assisted one arm pushups. This is a neat variation to progress towards one arm pushups that really works the upper body and core.
Joe Defranco shows lateral speed skater jumps to develop lateral power.
Julia Ladewski gets after at the Elitefts compound. Julia is incredibly strong. Awesome stuff.
Stephen Bell does 3,200 pushups. Stephen promised to do 10 pushups for every “like” he got on a Facebook status and ending up getting 320 likes. Guess you’ve got to be careful what you wish for….
Melody Schoenfeld plays around with the hanging ladders. Nothing like having some fun, and this is very impressive.
Graham Carpio does ring triceps extensions. This is an awesome exercise. Graham has the rings set very low as well, making it extremely difficult. Great work.
Candice Karnes benches 125 pounds. Nice work, and closing in on the big 135!
Joe Hashey shows some exercises that really work the core without necessarily being considered “core” exercises. Nothing like killing a few birds with one stone.
The Frog and the Geese. This is a good story about teamwork. I actually really like this and it makes a lot of sense. Clever stuff.
Inspiration: Power Beyond Measure. One of my athletes sent this to me this week and I thought it was too good not to share. Love this sort of thing.
I think that’s a good one to end on.
I’m off to do me some pull-ups. Have a good week and start the week strong!
